Coda IV — Entrainment: One Small Word

It is edifying when what we have been tracking over eight years and over a succession of many books collapses as a compassionate waveform into one small word: entrainment.

Entrainment is the word that describes how living beings express deep contentment and happiness. It quite literally means being in tune, as one's entire being — physically, mentally, and with conscious awareness — becomes happily, contentedly, in tune with the entire universe.

If it is our mental models of ourselves as living beings — dependent on how we see our real, actual living, breathing selves: philosophical, scientific, spiritual — that count most, then we have some adjusting to do.

If the quantum universe and ourselves may be defined as a symphony — and alternatively as a fluid/wave system more in common with a trout stream than with a clockwork orange — the directions are clear.

Entrainment tells us clearly what the directions are — personally, nationally, and as a whole human species living on Planet Earth. To live each moment, take each breath, each step, as a fully entrained living being — in tune with, entrained with, the whole universe.

The distance I would go to /

The distance in your eyes.
