Colophon

Gravity’s Compassionate Quantum Angels was composed in the early hours of 2026 in counterpoint with a working musician’s practice room, in a house where the door to the studio stays open.

The text is set in EB Garamond, Georg Duffner’s open-source revival of Claude Garamont’s sixteenth-century romans and Robert Granjon’s italics — chosen because every other typeface available felt too tidy for a book whose subject is sustained vibration.

Display text is set in the same family at heavier weight. Musical examples were engraved with Lilypond. Mathematical plates were rendered with matplotlib on a cream ground (#f4ecd8) using iron-gall ink (#3a2818) and burnished-gold accent (#b8860b) — a palette consciously borrowed from medieval scriptorium practice in order to refuse the visual register of the technical manual.

The Riemann critical-line plate (Plate III) shows the first ten nontrivial zeros, with ordinates taken from the public-domain computational tables. The cochlea diagram (Plate VI) is schematic; for the rigorous anatomy, see Pickles, An Introduction to the Physiology of Hearing.

The book was prepared with the active collaboration of a transformer-class language model functioning as research assistant, manuscript compositor, and proofreader. The thinking, the witness, and the music are the author’s.

The body was set 11 / 14 on a 6 × 9 trim. The first edition was printed via Kindle Direct Publishing on cream uncoated stock, the only paper the author could find that did not feel like a hospital wall.
